It is lovely that the president visited law enforcement officers and National Guard troops stationed in the District of Columbia.

I wonder whether he would ever go to see or recognize the Capitol Police and, if so, what type of reception he would receive if he did, given his betrayal of them.

We learned how much Donald Trump supports law enforcement on Jan. 6, 2021, the day on which he instigated a mob to desecrate the Capitol and to beat, crush and spray poison on the noble and outnumbered members of the Capitol Police who risked their lives to defend our democracy and our house. Rather than promptly call off his dogs when he saw what was taking place on television, he sat in the White House dining room for three hours as the bedlam continued.

It seems Trump’s credo is, “I support law enforcement 100% (unless its members are acting in opposition to my interests, in which case, they deserve whatever they get).”
