One of the first actions of the Trump/Musk regime was to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development. “Heck yeah!” says MAGA. The decrease to the federal budget is estimated at about $36 per American. But the impacts are extreme: tens of thousands of middle-class Americans losing their jobs, hundreds of thousands of staff, partners and contractors overseas losing their jobs, and millions of unfortunate people worldwide losing their health, livelihoods or lives.

And don’t forget the long-term impacts of more epidemics, conflict, natural disasters and humanitarian crises. But hey, enjoy that $36, folks, if you ever see it.
