Westmoreland happenings: Burger bash, children’s night out, bingos, more

Children’s event

• The Cook Township Community Center will host a Kids Night In for children age 5 to 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. March 7 at the center, 1714 Route 711. Cost: $5, includes cheese pizza, drink, games and a dance party. Parents may register their children and leave or stay and observe. Reservations appreciated but not required. Questions: 724-593-7471. Fish Fry

• Faith Global Methodist Church, 305 Freeport St., Delmont, will have a fish fry from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays March 7 to April 11 at the church. Dine in or takeout. Menu: fried cod sandwich dinner and baked cod dinner, $15; chicken tender dinner, $10; all include one hot and one cold side and dessert. A la carte items: fries, haluski, baked potato, coleslaw, apple sauce and desserts, $2. Dine in includes free tea, lemonade, water or coffee.

Fundraisers

• Jeannette American Legion will host bingo at 1 p.m. March 2 at the post, 109 S. Fifth St. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Cost: $25 per packet, includes regular and special games. There will be a $750 jackpot game, magic number, door prizes and 50-50. The kitchen will be open. Smoke-free venue. Proceeds benefit veterans and community activities. Details: Rick, 724-600-5061.

• The bingo at Marian Hall at St. Bartholomew Church, 2538 Route 119, Crabtree, will return to summer hours beginning March 2. Doors open at 5 p.m. and early birds begin at 6 p.m. Games will include an escalating quickie full card up to $1,000 and an escalating jackpot up to $2,000.

• Holy Family Church, West Newton, will have a burger and pizza burger bash from 5 to 7 p.m. March 1 and noon to 2 p.m. March 2 at the church, 225 N. Second St. Menu: burger, fries, dessert and drink; or pizza burger, dessert and drink, both $8, and include a full condiment bar. Public welcome.

Meeting

• Westmoreland Area Nurses Association will meet at 4 p.m. March 3 at the Boulevard, 900 Towne Square Drive, Hempfield. No reservations required. Details: Cordie, 412-841-8529.
