Armstrong County Senior Centers

All centers are closed Monday for Presidents Day.

Apollo

Wednesday and Thursday: 10 a.m., bingo.

Hours: 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays. Details: Charlotte at 800-368-1066 or Amy at 724-478-1410. The center is at 707A N. Fifth St., Apollo.  

Freeport

Tuesday and Thursday: bingo.

The center is at 102 Fifth St., Freeport.

Leechburg

Tuesday: 10 a.m., blood pressure screenings

Wednesday: 10 a.m., craft workshop.

The center is in the Parks Township fire hall, 1119 Dalmation Drive. Details: 724-567-5359.

Avonmore Center for Active Adults

Monday: closed for Presidents Day.

Wednesday: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., nutrition program.

The center is on Railroad Avenue. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-697-4014.

East Vandergrift Center for Active Adults

Monday: closed for Presidents Day.

Feb. 27: Birthday celebration. Reservations required by Wednesday.

The center is at 400 McKinley Ave. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-568-2692.

New Kensington Senior Center

Monday: closed for Presidents Day.

Thursday: 1 p.m., crocheting and knitting class.

The center is at 1039 Third Ave., New Kensington. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Details: 724-335-8597.

Plum Community Center

Monday: 12:30 to 3 p.m., bingo. Cost: $10, includes all games, soft drinks and a snack. Games include 10 regular games that pay $20 each, four specials that pay $25 each and a $150 jackpot game.

Thursday: 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Stroke Support group.

The center is at 499 Center New Texas Road. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays. Details and reservations: 412-795-2330.

Riverview Community Action Corp.

Monday: closed for Presidents Day. No bus service will be available.

Thursday: 1 p.m., free program about the Amish with CCAC. Reservations required by Tuesday.

Feb. 24: 1 p.m., jewelry exchange party. Bring a necklace, bracelet or earrings, new or something you don’t wear that is worth at least $20. Reservations required by Thursday.

The center is at 501 Second St., Oakmont. Hours: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Fitness fee is $3 per class or $60 for 25 classes. Details and reservations: 412-828-1062.

Winfield Township Senior Center

Thursday: 10 a.m., coffee time; 11 a.m., bingo; noon, lunch; 12:30 to 2 p.m., cards and games.

Residents 60 and older welcome. The center is in the Winfield Township fire hall, 200 Brose Road, and is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays. Reservations and details: 724-282-3008, option 6.
