Pink House Road and the southbound lane of Fern Hollow Road in Sewickley Heights reopened to traffic Nov 15.

Allegheny County Public Works officials said traffic restrictions were required for the replacement of Little Sewickley Creek South Branch Bridge, which included new pavement, pavement markings, signage and guardrail.

The bridge carries Pink House Road. On Feb. 6, 2020, public works engineers closed it because they determined it was unsafe for traffic.

Before the closure, an average of 50 drivers used the bridge daily. When it was closed, the bridge had a condition rating of 2 (poor) on a 0-9 scale based on National Bridge Inspection Standards established by the Federal Highway Administration.

The lane closure on Fern Hollow Road began June 17 when work began to replace the bridge. An average of 855 drivers use Fern Hollow Road daily.

A. Merante Contracting of West Mifflin completed the $818,823 project.
