A vehicle crashed into a 7-Eleven store in Penn Hills early Sunday and then fled, according to first responders.

Penn Hills Fire Company No. 7 reported it was among emergency units called to the scene at 600 Rodi Road shortly after 1 a.m.

No one inside the store was injured and the vehicle fled before emergency crews arrived, according to Company No. 7 Chief Bill Jeffcoat.

He said Penn Hills police are trying to locate the driver after witnesses provided a description of the vehicle and its license plate number.

Jeffcoat said there was no structural damage to the building and the store’s management was working early Sunday to board up a window that had been smashed.

“I anticipate them to reopen once they’re able to get the window boarded up,” Jeffcoat said.

A woman who answered the phone at the store Sunday morning directed press inquiries to a corporate email address. There was no immediate response.

Attempts to contact Penn Hills police Sunday morning were unsuccessful.
