Now that school is back in session, the Aspinwall Police Department and borough leaders are reminding motorists to “be aware and drive with care.”

The campaign, which coincides with the start of the Fox Chapel Area school year, aims to encourage safe driving habits throughout Aspinwall and its neighboring communities.

“Operating at a safe speed and exercising good judgment on the roads, sidewalks, trails and parking lots is everyone’s responsibility,” Aspinwall Mayor Joseph Noro said.

As part of the campaign, signs will be posted throughout the borough with messages such as “Slow Down Save Lives,” “Keep Our Kids Alive” and “It’s a Road Not a Race.”

The borough is looking for businesses and residents to sponsor the signs. For details, call the borough office at 412-781-0213 or stop in at 217 Commercial Ave.
