Some of the most enthusiastic applause during the June 7 graduation exercises for the Pine-Richland High School Class of 2024 was for members of the Pine-Richland High School Class of 2036.

Representing each of the district’s elementary schools, three of this past year’s kindergartners had an opportunity to wish the older students well.

Elliette Newingham is a Hance Elementary student.

“As you move on,” she told the seniors, “do not forget what we say at Hance: ‘We are brave. We are smart. We are kind. We are loved. We are P-R.’”

Emily Ruscetti of Wexford Elementary and Morgan Steele of Richland Elementary both acknowledged gifts to the schools by the Class of ’24.

“Thank you, seniors, for the donation to our school library. Great job graduating. Have fun in your next adventure,” Emily said. “We are P-R. Let’s go, Rams.”

Morgan referenced one of her favorite children’s book characters, a mouse named Thea Stilton created by Italian author Elisabetta Dami who “graduated from Mouseford Academy with top honors.”

“So I thought she may have some good advice for you,” Morgan told the seniors, quoting from the book “Thea Stilton and the Ghost of the Shipwreck.” “She says, ‘The past may be gone, but its lessons can guide us to a brighter future.’

“Congratulations, and go, Rams.”
