AI is a tool. Almost any tool can be used for nefarious purposes. A hammer can drive a nail or bash in a head. It is wrong to blame the tool.

AI still is in the relatively early stages of development, and there are problems that need to be sorted out. I remember 60 years ago, 70 years into their development, that you couldn’t really count on a car to run for any length of time without some sort of problem cropping up. Tap the brakes and they might not be there. Now, failure is very rare.

AI is maybe 30 years old. I remember years ago playing with neural nets, the precursor to AI. Give it another 20 years.
