A man was injured Thursday afternoon during a shooting in a fast-food restaurant Downtown.

Pittsburgh police responded to an Arby’s in the 800 block of Liberty Avenue around 3 p.m. after shots were fired inside the restaurant, spokeswoman Cara Cruz said. A total of 15 rounds were fired.

Two men exchanged gunfire and fled the area before police arrived, Cruz said. Nearby, officers then found and detained one man, who they did not name, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper left leg.

EMS workers transported him to a local hospital in stable condition, Cruz said. One firearm was recovered around Fifth Avenue and Wood Street.

Police are reviewing video footage as they search for the second suspect, who they believe to be a man in his mid-20s, Cruz said. The initial investigation suggests the two men might have known knew each other and fought before shots were fired, he said.

Employees and patrons inside the restaurant during the shooting were not injured.
