A Republican candidate earned a Hampton Township School Board seat by defeating an incumbent, according to unofficial Allegheny County election results.

Jenny L. Kennedy edged Democrat Trisha Marie Webb, 3,476 votes to 3,428, to join four candidates running on both parties’ tickets in winning four-year terms on the board.

Reelected were Joy Midgley, with 4,778 votes; Matthew A. Jarrell, 4,567; and Robert J. Shages, 4,524. Maureen Farrell Perkins received 4,548 votes.

Write-in votes totaled 101.

Webb ran for the school board as a Democrat in the 2019 general election, besting Republican Larry Vasko by only four votes. Vasko subsequently was elected to the board two years later, when none of the candidates — Denise Balason, Jill Hamlin and Gregory Stein were the others — faced opposition.
