The Lindsay Theater

Summer Classic Series continues at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 with “Vertigo,” ranked as the No.1 greatest film ever made in a much-talked-about 2012 poll conducted by the British Film Institute’s magazine Sight and Sound. Starring Indiana, Pa., native Jimmy Stewart as a private detective terrified of heights, “Vertigo” is “classic (Alfred) Hitchcock —suspense, mystery, romance, all wrapped around twisted human psychology,” says Big Think. Hired by an old friend to tail his wife, who is suspected to be suicidal, the private eye develops a relationship with this mysterious woman that turns into obsession. T.S. Eliot’s “Four Quartets,” originally scheduled for July 27, is postponed. For tickets or more information, visit thelindsaytheater.org.

Senior Men’s Club

An affiliate of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, the Senior Men’s Club will host Heather VanTassell of Three Rivers Waterkeepers on Friday. For more information, visit smensclub.org or Facebook.com/smensclub.

Knitting Guild

Three Rivers Knitting Guild meets on the second Monday of every month at the Leetsdale Community Room in the Borough Building, 139 Broad Street. The meeting starts at 6:15 p.m. Attendees enjoy workshops, classes, show and tell, and just getting together with other knitters. The Guild dues are $15 per year and members get a 10% discount at Sewickley Yarns. For questions or more information, contact Henrietta Kretzler at 724-266-0319 or Diane Patterson at 724-848-1412.

Night Marts planned

Sewickley Chamber of Commerce will host Night Mart from 6 to 9 p.m. July 28 along Beaver Street between Broad and Walnut streets. The event will feature about 30 artisan vendors, 13 food trucks and tents, live entertainment and a local craft brew pop-up. Vendors include From the Grounds Up Coffee, Slurp-N-Burst Boba Tea, Uni Ramen Bar, Veggies N’At, Baxter and the Bear, Clementina, and Found Woodworks. The final Night Mart for the summer is Aug. 25.
