Dorseyville Road paving

Periodic single-lane closures will occur on Dorseyville Road between Fox Chapel Road and Saxonburg Boulevard in Indiana Township beginning 6 a.m. July 5, according to the Allegheny County Department of Public Works.

Restrictions will occur between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays and are expected to end by November. They are required for milling and paving, base repairs, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement.

Drivers can expect to experience short stoppages at work zones, and flaggers will be used to control traffic.

The project will be done by Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc., of Rankin as part the $7.6 million 2023 capital roads contract.

Blawnox Night Out

The Best of Blawnox is sponsoring National Night Out on Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m. in Blawnox Community Park

The event provides an opportunity to meet first responders. Vendors will be present. There will be food and light refreshment.

Aspinwall Night Out

Aspinwall Neighbors is hosting Aspinwall’s Big Night Out on Aug. 10 from 6-9 p.m. at Ben Killian Field at the Aspinwall Recreation Area along Field Avenue.

There will be live music, food and beverage samples, plus vendors and activities.
