An inmate at SCI Laurel Highlands died on Saturday.

Richard Lundberg, 39, of Somerset, died after being taken from the prison to a hospital, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

He was found “lethargic,” the office said.

An official cause of death was not immediately released, but Pennsylvania Department of Corrections spokesman Ryan Tarkowski said Lundberg died “from natural causes” just before 9:30 a.m. June 3.

Lundberg was serving a sentence of 3½ to 10 years for sexual abuse of children-possession of child pornography, Tarkowski said. He arrived at SCI Laurel Highlands on Sept. 4, 2018.
