He struck out seven. RHP Chase De Jong (0.00), rehabbing a lumbar injury, pitched two scoreless innings of relief, as did RHP Carmen Mlodzinski (4.09). RHP Colin Selby (4.50) worked a scoreless ninth. CF Josh Palacios (.375) went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a two-run homer, his second. 1B Aaron Shackelford (.232) went 1 for 4 with his first home run.

RHP Dante Mendoza (7.71) and RHP Oliver Mateo (4.26) each pitched a scoreless inning. Greensboro and Rome were scheduled to play a doubleheader Friday, but the second game was rained out. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday.
