McCandless GOP
The Republican Party of McCandless will host a fundraiser and petition signing party on Feb. 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Banquet Room at Pizza Roma on Perry Highway in McCandless.
Tickets are $50 each. A buffet will be provided and a cash bar. There will be a 50/50 drawing and prizes.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet prospective candidates for County Council, North Allegheny School Board and town councils in McCandless, Marshall, Bradford Woods and Franklin Park.

St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church
St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church conducts in-person Sunday worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The latter is live-streamed. Sunday School is conducted and the nursery is open during the 10 a.m. service. A special Children’s Service is held at 10 a.m. on the last Sunday of each month.
St. Brendan’s will hold a gently Used Book, CD and DVD sale on Feb. 17, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon. Baked goods and quarts of homemade soup will also be available.
Rev. Robin Jarrell is teaching “How Did the Bible Come to Be?” — a series of classes at 6 p.m. Thursdays via Zoom to which newcomers are invited.

The Farina Foundation
The Farina Foundation is seeking donations of new or gently used instruments or materials for its “Play-it-Forward” program, which provides instruments to students who lack the chance to experience the arts due to financial need, lack of resources and personal challenges.
Donated instruments are evaluated, refurbished and sanitized. The Play-it-Forward then distributes the majority of the instruments to more than 180 underserved schools in nonprofit The Education Partnership system.
Donations can be dropped off at the Brighton Music Center at 2110 Babcock Boulevard.
The foundation is named for Frank J. Farina, Jr., former chairman of the North Allegheny Music Department. During his more than 38-year career, he wanted every child to have the opportunity to fulfill their musical aspirations.
