A passenger in a van was killed Thursday morning in a crash on the Parkway East in Monroeville, according to state police.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Fannie Stoltzfus, 84, of Romulus.

The van was traveling near the on-ramp for the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Troopers said the van left the road, hit a guard rail and went over an embankment.

Several other people in the van were treated at the scene for injuries. Police did not say how many others were in the van or if anyone was taken to a hospital.

The area was closed while troopers conducted a reconstruction of the crash.
