Starting early Monday morning, a stretch of Saxonburg Boulevard in Shaler will be shut down for most of October to repair a landslide, PennDOT announced.

The around-the-clock road closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Oct. 3 and last through the end of the month, according to the transportation agency.

A 1.6-mile section of Saxonburg Boulevard will be closed in both directions between Middle Road and Fugger Lane while crews repair the slide and reconstruct the road shoulder, PennDOT officials said.

The northbound detour will take traffic from Saxonburg Boulevard on to Middle Road, right on Harts Run Road and then back onto Saxonburg.

Eastbound traffic will follow the same route around the construction site.
