Road closures will impact Pittsburgh’s Downtown, Uptown, Oakland and Squirrel Hill neighborhoods this weekend as about 10,000 people are expected to participate in events for the Richard S. Caliguiri City of Pittsburgh Great Race.

The weekend of events includes a variety of races, including the Diaper Dash, Tot Trot, One-Mile Family Fun Run, 5K and 10K.

Road closures will run start at 6:30 a.m. Sunday and continue through around 11 a.m. Roads that will be closed include:

  • Beechwood Boulevard to Forbes Avenue and Morewood Avenue will be closed from about 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • Forbes and Morewood Avenues from Fifth Avenue and Bigelow Boulevard will be closed from about 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Fifth Avenue at Bigelow Boulevard to Fifth Avenue at the Robinson Street ramp will be closed from about 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
  • Fifth Avenue at the Robinson Street ramp to Commonwealth Place and Liberty Avenue will be closed from about 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Anyone in those areas who may need to leave during the race should consider parking their cars outside the race area, city officials said.
