Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker will miss at least one scheduled start, as the Pirates placed him on the MLB paternity list Sunday.

Brubaker (3-11, 4.39 ERA) leads the Pirates in starts (24), innings (127) and Pirates starting pitchers in strikeouts per nine innings (9.4). He allowed six runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out eight Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves at PNC Park. He was lined up to start Monday in Milwaukee.

To replace Brubaker on the active roster, the Pirates added Robert Stephenson, who was claimed off waivers from Colorado on Saturday. Stephenson, 29, is a former first-round pick of the Cincinnati Reds (2011) who is 14-15 with a 4.97 ERA in seven seasons.

Stephenson made 22 career starts over his first three major league seasons but has spent the majority of his career in the bullpen. He was 2-1 with a 6.04 ERA, 37 strikeouts and 13 walks in 45 appearances for the Rockies this season.
