A Mt. Pleasant Borough man is being held without bail after state police said he took a gun to a home in Mt. Pleasant Township Friday and threatened to kill three people there, according to court papers.
Troopers said the incident came days after Carl P. McKenzie, 47, learned a protection from abuse order had been filed against him by someone at the home. He is charged with terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault, harassment and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police were called to Longview Lane in the township just before noon after McKenzie was seen sitting at the bottom of the driveway in his Jeep Cherokee. A resident there had gotten a protection from abuse order against him early last week, according to court papers.
Troopers said McKenzie threatened to kill three people inside the house, a mutual friend who came to the residents’ aid and himself. Police seized marijuana from the SUV, a revolver and ammunition, according to court papers.
He was arraigned later in the day and was being held at the Westmoreland County Prison. McKenzie did not have an attorney listed in online court records. An Aug. 8 preliminary hearing is scheduled.
