McCandless Crossing is hosting Summer Artisan Markets featuring handmade gifts from local makers and live music from regional performing artists.

The next monthly market takes place on July 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. under the big tent on the Town Green. Future markets are scheduled for Aug. 20 and Sept. 17.

Live music takes place from noon to 2 p.m.

Shannon Jones is slated to perform folk covers and original sounds on July 16 and Sept. 17.

Sloane Simon, an award-winning songwriter, who appeared on American Idol, performs on Aug. 20.

Summer campers from Perform Pittsburgh, a contemporary music and theater company, will perform at the August and September markets from 2 to 3 p.m.

Northland Public Library will offer kids’ programming at the July, August and September market events.

“We’re excited for our summer artisan markets at McCandless Crossing, and we invite the community to come out and support our local artisans and enjoy everything McCandless Crossing has to offer,”said Kevin Dougherty, president of AdVenture Development, which manages and developed McCandless Crossing, located at McKnight Road and Duncan Avenue in McCandless.
