Thanks to a forecast that calls for rain and cold, opening night at Lernerville Speedway will have to wait a week.

Track officials announced Thursday that the season’s first night of racing action has been pushed back to Friday, April 8.

The opening night schedule includes Peoples Natural Gas Sprint Cars, Precise Racing Products Late Models, Diehl Automotive Big Block Modifieds and Millerstown Pic-A-Part Pro Stocks.

Hot laps will begin at 6:50 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30. Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. and the grandstands will open at 5. The card also will be broadcast on Lernerville.tv on a pay-per-view basis.
