A man is in the hospital with head injuries after being knocked unconscious Monday during a fight on Pittsburgh’s South Side, police said.

Mueller said police responded to the incident at 12:50 a.m. Monday in the 1500 block of E. Carson Street. A suspect was taken into custody and was being held the Allegheny County Jail, said public safety spokeswoman Amanda Mueller.

A second unrelated Shotspotter alert happened around 2 a.m. Monday, but officers did not find any property damage or anyone that had been hit by gunfire, Mueller said.
