Former Penguins forward Mark Jankowski will attend the New Jersey Devils’ training camp on a tryout basis.

The veteran center signed a professional tryout contract (PTO) with the Devils on Tuesday.

A free agent signing with the Penguins during the 2020 offseason, Jankowski’s lone season in Pittsburgh was mostly underwhelming. Primarily used as a bottom-six forward, Jankowski appeared in 45 games for the Penguins and scored 11 points (four goals, seven assists).

Jankowski, 27, was a first-round pick (No. 21 overall) of the Calgary Flames in 2012.

Forward Colton Sceviour and defenseman Jesper Lindgren are the only players who finished the 2020-21 season under NHL contracts to the Penguins who remain unsigned.
