Pirates farm report for Sept. 9, 2021: Bethel Park’s Justin Meis earns 1st win for Bradenton

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 52-58) lost to Louisville (Reds), 6-3. RHP Tanner Anderson (2-3, 3.94) got the loss, allowing two runs, walking one and striking out three over five innings. RHP Connor Overton (1.99), who was just acquired from the Blue Jays, pitched a scoreless inning with a pair of strikeouts and RHP Shea Spitzbarth (1.51) delivered 1.1 scoreless innings of his own. 1B Phillip Evans (.277) went 2 for 4 for a pair of RBIs. 3B Hunter Owen (.221) drove in the other run on a groundout.

Next: Friday at Louisville (Reds), 7 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 54-53) beat Erie (Tigers), 8-3. LHP Omar Cruz (3-4, 3.43) got the win, allowing two runs, walking three and striking out six across five innings. RHP Yerry De Los Santos (1.98) and RHP Christofer Melendez (3.73) each delivered scoreless innings. RF Jack Suwinski (.244) went 2 for 4 while driving in two. 2B Ji-Hwan Bae (.276) had a 3-for-4 night and also added a walk. DH Oneil Cruz (.293) went 2 for 5 with an RBI and LF Daniel Amaral (.222) went 1 for 4 with a two-run double.

Next: Friday vs. Erie (Tigers), 6 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 71-40) was cooled off by Jersey Shore (Phillies), 8-5. RHP Grant Ford (6.04) started and gave up four runs on three hits, including two homers, and four walks in 4.1 innings. He struck out six. RHP Michell Miliano (1-2, 5.40) took the loss, giving up three runs in one inning. 3B Jared Triolo (.308) went 2 for 4 with an RBI. LF Lolo Sanchez (.256) was 2 for 5 and drove in a run. DH Liover Peguero (.271) went 1 for 5 with a double.

Next: Thursday at Jersey Shore (Phillies), 7:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 68-42) handled Clearwater (Phillies), 9-4. RF Hudson Head (.214) went 1 for 2 with his 15th home run, two walks and two runs scored. C Endy Rodriguez (.291) went 3 for 4 with a three-run home run, his 13th. 3B Alexander Mojica (.212) went 1 for 5 with his eighth homer. RHP Justin Meis (1-1, 2.30) picked up his first win, pitching 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up no hits and one walk and fanning three.

Next: Friday at Clearwater (Phillies), 6:30 p.m.
