The Toronto Maple Leafs have selected forward Ty Voit in the fifth round (No. 153 overall) of the NHL’s entry draft.

A native of Pine, the 18-year-old Voit is a product of the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program.

Voit is currently a member of the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Due to provincial restrictions in Ontario due to the pandemic, the OHL’s entire 2020-21 season was canceled.

During the 2019-20 season, Voit, a right-handed shot, appeared in 49 games for Sarnia and scored 28 points (eight goals, 20 assists).
