Worship service at Hartwood Acres

Elfinwild, Parkwood and Hampton Presbyterian churches will come together July 25 to host a combined worship service outdoors at the Hartwood Acres Park Amphitheatre.

The service will be led by the pastors of the participating churches with the bands of all three churches contributing music. Anyone in the North Hills who wishes to worship is invited to attend. Bring blankets and chairs. The praise band will present a 30-minute concert after the one-hour service. The Amphitheatre is located at 4070 Middle Road in Allison Park.

Members are encouraged to donate to their individual churches as usual; however, any monies collected that day will be donated to the North Hills Community Outreach (HEARTH) and Anchorpoint.

For details or questions, call any of the three church offices: Elfinwild U.P., 412-486-5400, Dirk Lesnett; Parkwood U.P., 412-486-9220, Jeffrey Potter; or Hampton P.C., 724-443-3201, Ted Martin.

Storytelling at Bradford Woods Reserve

On July 30 at 7 p.m., gather at the reserve in Bradford Woods at the corner of Lincoln and Bradford Road, where you can walk down the trail to a beautiful outdoor area around the campfire to listen to people telling short stories.

Bring a blanket to sit on the grass or a chair and a flashlight. There is no parking at the reserve, so attendees will have to park and walk in. After the storytelling, s’mores will be made.

This event is sponsored by the Bradford Woods Conservancy and is free.
