Tommy Williamson scored in the waning moments of the second half, giving the Pittsburgh Riverhounds a 1-1 draw with the Charleston Battery on Wednesday night in South Carolina.

The Riverhounds (6-4-3) are 4-1-1 in their last six games, good for second place in the USL Championship’s Atlantic Division.

The game was moved up to 4 p.m. from an originally scheduled kickoff of 7:30 p.m. thanks to Hurricane Elsa.

Williamson scored in the 85th minute. Louis Perez saved a ball along the end line and sent a cross into the box that was deflected by a Charleston defender. Williamson found the loose ball and fired a shot into the top-right corner.

Charleston (3-3-3) played most of the game with a lead after scoring in the ninth minute. Nicque Daley made a long diagonal pass to spring Geobel Perez for a run at the Riverhounds net. Goalkeeper Danny Vitiello charged off his line to challenge and got a piece of the ball, but Perez collected it and tapped it into the vacated cage.

After playing 10 games in the last 40 days, the Riverhounds will have 10 days off before playing host to Loudoun United FC at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 17.
