Members of the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol team held up a $1 million display check and shouted up at an open window after the winner didn’t respond to repeated knocks at the door of his Shaler home on June 30. Contest winners are not notified beforehand, company officials said in a warning issued about potential scams involving sweepstakes.
