A Pittsburgh Public Safety spokesman confirmed that a man was shot multiple times Thursday night outside UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

He was reported to be in critical condition at another hospital.

An altercation apparently preceded the shooting, according to the spokesman.

Police and other emergency units responded to the scene shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to an Allegheny County 911 dispatcher.

Additional details weren’t immediately available.
