Hampton once again staged a successful recycling program where items, such as electronics and glass, were diverted from landfills.

Recycle Rama was hosted May 15 at Hampton Community Park.

Just two years ago, more than 50,000 pounds of electronic waste was collected, according to JVS Environmental, which also was a vendor this year.

Director of Community Services Kevin Flannery said there were four areas of collection that included paper shredding, building materials, electronics and glass recycling.
