Minor league report: Penguins fall to Phantoms

Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 20 saves on 26 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 6-2 road loss to the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown on Sunday.

Forwards Josh Currie and Felix Robert scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (12-12-4-2).

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against Lehigh Valley on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.

Defenseman Jesse Lees had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-3 road loss to the Jacksonville Icemen at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla.

Forwards Nick Rivera and Patrick Watling each scored a goal for Wheeling (18-30-5-1) while goaltender Shane Starrett made 24 saves on 28 shots in the defeat.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Fort Wayne Komets on Wednesday, 7:30 p.m.
