Goaltender Max Lagace made 20 saves on 21 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins who were shut out by the rival Hershey Bears, 2-0, at the Giant Center in Hershey on Sunday.

It was the second time this season Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (7-8-2) has been shut out.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Friday, 7 p.m.

The Wheeling Nailers had both of their home games against the South Carolina Stingrays this weekend — which began on Saturday and Sunday — canceled because of unplayable ice conditions at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. W.Va.

Saturday’s game was halted after a period while Sunday’s contest was stopped after nearly four minutes according to a release from the ECHL.

The league had initially rescheduled the remainder of Saturday’s game to be continued on Monday before ultimately cancelling it.

Neither game will be rescheduled “due to travel and scheduling conflicts in regards to player safety.”

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Fort Wayne Komets scheduled for Wednesday, 7:10 p.m.
