Authorities investigating fatal Big Beaver fire as a homicide

A man is dead after an early morning house fire in Big Beaver that authorities say is being investigated as a homicide.

Beaver County Emergency Management Agency officials confirmed the coroner’s office was dispatched to the scene of the fire on the 1000 block of Shenango Road in Big Beaver shortly after 6 a.m.

While battling the blaze, first responders found the body of a a 26-year-old man inside the residence.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide, according to Beaver County emergency management officials.

No information relating to the man’s identity will be released at this time pending the notification of next of kin.

Anyone with information relating to the incident or who may have witnessed activity at 1095 Shenango Road between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Sunday are asked to call the Beaver Falls Police Department or the Beaver County Detectives Bureau at 724-846-7000 or 724-775-0880.

No additional information was immediately available.
