Minor league report: Penguins fall to Crunch in shootout

Goaltender Maxime Lagace made 17 saves on 18 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 shootout loss at home to the Syracuse Crunch at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.

Defenseman Jon Lizotte scored the lone regulation goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (4-2-1).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road game against the Binghamton Devils on Saturday, 7 p.m.

Goaltender Francois Brassard made 11 saves on 15 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-0 road loss to the Indy Fuel at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis.

Highlights:

The Nailers (7-15-4) next play on the road against the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, 8 p.m.
