Pittsburgh police: Man found dead in Downtown alley after falling from building

Updated: Police on Thursday identified the man as Howard Letcher, 45, of Espyville.

Authorities are investigating after police say a man fell off a building at about noon Tuesday in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Police and paramedics responded to the call at about 12:15 p.m. for a man who had fallen several stories off a building.

The man, who wasn’t immediately identified, was found dead on Exchange Way, an alley between Liberty and Penn avenues, police said.

He was was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesman said..

He appears to have fallen from a building in the 900 block of Liberty Avenue.

Police are reviewing video and talking with people who may have witnessed what happened.
