An Ohio man working on a disabled vehicle was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer on I-70 eastbound in Fallowfield Township on Monday morning, according to Washington County 911 and the coroner.

The crash happened just after 7:20 a.m. near mile marker 37, before the exit to the Mon–Fayette Expressway. The disabled vehicle, also a tractor-trailer, was parked on the right shoulder of the highway, according to the coroner.

The coroner’s office identified the man as John M. Isenberg III, 33, of Toronto, Ohio.

All eastbound lanes in the area of the crash were closed for several hours, reopening just after 10 a.m.

Traffic was detoured at exit 35 onto Route 481, according to state police.

State police from the Belle Vernon barracks are investigating.
