After a stellar regular season, Rashad Weaver and Patrick Jones closed out their All-American postseason Thursday when the Pitt defensive ends were named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation first team.

Weaver and Jones comprised half of the first-team defensive line on the oldest All-America squad in the nation. Selected by 130 FBS head coaches and sports information directors, Walter Camp dates to 1889.

Weaver, a consensus All-American, was named to 10 All-American squads, including eight first teams. Jones’ name appeared on six teams (two first teams).

Pitt has a long history of Walter Camp honorees, starting with center Bob Peck in 1915, followed by Jimbo Covert, Tony Dorsett, Hugh Green and Larry Fitzgerald among 39 players selected. The most recent time Pitt had two first-team Walter Camp All-Americans on defense in the same season was 1977 when tackle Randy Holloway and safety Bob Jury were honored.
