The Monroeville Public Library will offer Browsing Bundles for teens and adults in December. The service offers pre-selected books, audiobooks, DVDs, graphic novels, music, games and other items. The items can be requested for pickup from the library’s contactless pickup area.

The service requires patrons to tell library workers about themselves. The bundles will then be put together for them, and patrons will be notified when the bundle is ready for a pickup.

The library is currently closed for browsing and computer usage to curb the spread of covid-19.

For more information, call 412-372-0500 or visit the library’s website.

Religious services

Monroeville United Methodist Church will offer services Dec. 23 and 24. Below are the details for each:

• The Parking Lot Christmas Eve Eve service will start at 7 p.m. on Dec. 23 in the church’s parking lot, 219 Center Road. Participants will be able to tune in to the service on their 87.7 FM radio.

• The church’s traditional Christmas Eve Service will begin at 7 p.m. Dec. 24. There will be carols and candles in the virtual event, which will be held on the church’s Facebook page.

For more information on any of the events, email mumc@monroevilleUMC.org.

Monroeville council special meeting

Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 22 to discuss and adopt the 2021 budget. The meeting will take place virtually through videoconference software and will also be available to view on channel 15 and 45.

Residents who wish to address council or municipal officials are encouraged to email Tim Little, Monroeville’s manager, by noon Dec. 21. His email address is tlittle@monroeville.pa.us. Comments and questions will be addressed during the Dec. 22 meeting.

On-street parking during winter storms

Monroeville officials remind residents that parking on the street during winter storms is prohibited. Vehicles parked on the street while snow is accumulating will be issued parking tickets.

Vehicles parked on the street during a snow accumulation are a safety hazard to the snow plow operators and the general public, and on-street parking limits the municipality’s ability to provide effective and efficient service.
