Allegheny County reported 317 new covid-19 cases Tuesday, the second most the county has seen.

One new coronavirus-related death was reported, as well.

Total cases now stand at 17,973 and the death toll increased to 448.

In Allegheny County, there are currently 214 covid-19 patients hospitalized, with 33 on ventilators.

The new covid-19 death occurred Oct. 28 and was a person in their 80s. The death was associated with a long-term care facility.

Ages of new cases range from 1 to 105 years old, with a median age of 37. Dates of positive tests are from Oct. 30-Nov. 9. Of the new cases, 236 are confirmed cases and 81 probable.

Many of the new cases reported attending parties and gatherings, including several Halloween parties, per the Allegheny County Health Department.

“Without changes to personal behaviors, such as limiting parties and gatherings, cases will continue to rise. The Health Department is concerned that increases in serious hospitalizations and deaths will follow this span of consistently high cases,” a statement from the health department read.
