The high temperatures flirted but failed to hit a record on Monday in Western Pennsylvania but on Tuesday, the daily record is almost sure to be shattered.

Pittsburgh just missed the high-temperature mark by one degree on Monday (75). The forecast for Tuesday is expected to hit 77 according to the Weather Channel, and should easily top the record of 73 that was set in 1939.

But, despite the unseasonable weather that’s been experienced the last few days, reality is supposed to set in Wednesday.

Light-to-moderate rain is expected to develop before sunrise and continue off and on through the day as a cold front moves through.
