Pitt’s swimming and diving teams have paused all activities among their athletes because of “covid-related protocols,” the athletic department announced Wednesday.

Pitt’s meet at Notre Dame, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, has been canceled.

The swim team is the third Pitt athletic program affected by covid concerns during the fall semester.

Pitt’s men’s soccer team, ranked No. 1 in the nation, last week canceled its final two regular-season matches. The team plans to enter the ACC Tournament Nov. 15.

The football team called off one practice Aug. 13 in training camp when some players displayed covid symptoms. At the time, all tests came back negative. Over the past five games, the team has had no positive tests among its players.
