Police: 72-year-old man dies after 1-vehicle crash in Fayette County

A 72-year-old man died after a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County, according to state police.

State police said the incident happened around 5:20 a.m. Oct. 20 on Pittsburgh Road (Route 51) at Ash Road in North Union .

According to state police, Abraham L. Sullivan of Uniontown was driving a pickup. Police did not disclose the circumstances of the crash, which they said did not involve any other vehicles.

Sullivan was taken to Uniontown Hospital, where was pronounced dead upon arrival.

According to his obituary, Sullivan enlisted in the Army after graduating from North Union High School in 1966 and was a combat medic, serving during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked as a blast furnace worker for Duquesne Steel.
