Penn Hills Council awarded nearly $316,000 in its federal Community Development Block Grant money to a company that will pave eight roads throughout the municipality.

The CDBG money, which became available in August, will fund the repaving of Marlow, Rodilin, Keefer, South Joslyn, Arthur and Gilmore drives and Edwards and Jane streets.

Each street will be paved in its entirety, said planning director Chris Blackwell.

The work is being done by Oakdale-based Independent Enterprises. Blackwell expects that work to begin soon in order to beat the cold and inclement weather.
