All lanes of Interstate 79 have been reopened near Zelienople, Butler County, after a multi-vehicle crash with injuries shut the roadway down in both directions early Friday morning, according to state police.

The wreck occurred in the northbound lanes shortly before 6 a.m. between the Zelienople and Portersville/Prospect exits, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportion.

The crash happened at mile marker 92 near the Seneca Valley High School campus when a passenger vehicle crossed the center median and struck a tractor-trailer, according to a Butler County 911 dispatcher.

One person was flown to the hospital by medical helicopter for treatment, he said.
