As part of its ongoing effort to reach underserved communities, Allegheny Health Network’s mobile testing vehicle will be making stops each day this week at a variety of locations from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Monday, the mobile unit is scheduled to be at the Shop ‘n Save plaza in Pittsburgh’s Hill District. On Tuesday it stops at the City Hall Building in Clairton.
On Wednesday, the mobile unit will be at AHN Canonsburg Hospital in Canonsburg.
On Thursday it stops at Alma Illery Medical Center in Homewood.
On Friday the mobile unit will be at Duquesne Elementary School in Duquesne.
Due to increased patient volume, patients are being asked to make an appointment in advance by calling AHN’s 24/7 Nurse On Call-line at 412-687-7348. A physician’s order is not required.
To undergo covid-19 testing at the AHN mobile clinic, patients should either be experiencing symptoms consistent with the virus, including fever, cough and shortness of breath, or believe they are at risk due to contact with someone with a confirmed covid-19 diagnosis.
When arriving at the mobile testing site, patients will walk or drive through a secured, marked area. The sample is collected via a nasal swab and the process typically takes less than 30 seconds, not including any wait times.
Testing results for the coronavirus typically take 5-7 days, depending on regional test volume. Individuals will be contacted directly with their results.
