George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis was a terrible tragedy that should never have happened, and the police officers responsible should be punished to the full extent of the law. However, on June 1 in St. Louis, a retired Black police officer was shot and killed by looters while he was guarding a business. Where is the concern about his death? Does his life not matter? The hypocrisy is remarkable.
