In an attempt to help curb the spread of covid-19, Pitt canceled its sports camps scheduled for May, June and July, plus all its residential camps through August.

Many of the camps were avenues for football prospects to be seen by coaches.

The Pitt Sports Camps office will provide a full refund to all registered campers.

In regard to future gatherings, Pitt officials announced they will continue to monitor their own guidelines, plus those from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Center for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization.

“The safety of our campers, student-athletes and coaches remains our highest priority and will dictate future scheduling decisions,” the university said in a statement.
