Part of Prospect Road to close

Prospect Road in Baldwin Borough will close from Streets Run Road to about 400 feet north of Streets Run Road beginning 7 a.m. June 8. The closure, which is expected to last about one week, will occur between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays. According to an Allegheny County news release, it is required to help stabilize a landslide area via removal of loose soil and rock, construction of a flat step-like area to catch any future debris and grading to improve runoff drainage.

Traffic will be detoured using East Willock Road and Streets Run Road. A northbound lane closure due to another landslide on Prospect Road near Beryl Drive, which is controlled by a traffic signal, will remain in place during this closure.

The southbound lane of Prospect Road has been closed at the landslide site since March 23.
